Home-old
Project of the month
Strategic regional planning principles, which lead to true sustainability, are at the heart of DIAP’s thinking. Inspired by local geography, history, and culture, DIAP uses a contextual approach to design site-specific plans which are integrated with the surrounding environment. DIAP studies time-tested ideas in successful communities around the world, and brings them to bear to solve today’s challenges. DIAP also looks ahead far into the future to accommodate changing demographics, environmental characteristics, and economics.

The idea of combining occupancies has been proven successful in towns and cities for thousands of years. Along with the benefits of sustainability, vibrancy, and 24-hour land use, mixed-use buildings spread market risk across multiple sectors. Quality mixed-use design requires a keen knowledge of the various occupancies and support functions. DIAP has designed mixed-use structures since its inception. These buildings achieve a balance of uses for optimal economic synergy, and reflect the conditions of the site and the surrounding area.
